Early Childhood Health Care Program (ECHP)
Overview
Madang Country Women’s Association (CWA) believes children are the strength and the future of any community. We are committed to supporting communities in order to help them give their young people the best start in life.
Our Early Childhood Care and Development program (ECCD) is delivered in partnership with committed volunteers from across the 3 districts we work in. Our committed volunteers work hard to provide their young people the education and health care they need for a healthy future.
Our ECCD program is made up of our early childhood education program called Kindergarten Long Ples and our health program called Early Childhood Health Care Program

Program Components
Early Childhood Health Care Program (ECHP) was established in 1997 and works closely with the Kindergarten Long Ples program in order to support communities to improve the health of young people in over 24 villages in Madang Province. We are currently working with over 600 children and their parents.

Basic Healthcare
The program provides basic health checkups for children.
Environmental Health
Our trained nurse supports communities to improve the environmental health in their communities, including improving the water and sanitation of rural communities.
Positive parenting
Provide support to communities to enable them to raise their children in a violence free environment
Advocacy
