Kindergarten Long Ples Program (KLP)
Overview
Madang Country Women’s Association (CWA) believes children are the strength and the future of any community. We are committed to supporting communities in order to help them give their young people the best start in life.
Our Early Childhood Care and Development program (ECCD) is delivered in partnership with committed volunteers from across the 3 districts we work in. Our committed volunteers work hard to provide their young people the education and health care they need for a healthy future.
Our ECCD program is made up of our early childhood education program called Kindergarten Long Ples and our health program called Early Childhood Health Care Program

Madang CWA raises awareness of the importance of early childhood education and supports communities to establish their own Kindergarten schools
Early Childhood Education
Kindergarten Long Ples supports the education of young children across the Madang Province. We work in 24 villages in 3 districts. Our program works through 61 voluntary teachers, who teach over 600 pupils.
Teacher Training and Support
Madang CWA provides training to KLP teachers to ensure they have the skills to teach children from the ages of 3-6 yrs old.
Classroom development
CWA provides ongoing support and resources to the schools as they grow.
Advocacy
CWA aims to raise awareness of the importance of early childhood care and development through celebrating international days such as International Children's Day
KLP would not be possible without the commitment and support from our volunteer teachers (Uncles and Aunties), who work tirelessly to help the development of the young people in their communities.
