Brief History of MCWA
The Madang Country Women’s Association is the oldest established Non-Government Organization for women in PNG.
Since 1952 CWA has been meeting in friendship and understanding to improve the condition of family life in PNG
It has been very flexible in it’s operations assisting where it sees the most needs and where it has the capacity to do so.
We welcome you to a family of sharing and helping the needy.
What MCWA is about & the requirements to be a member?
MCWA is a non political, religious, non government organization.
MCWA is a self funding organization
MCWA will not tolerate the misuse of political, religious or financial matters for personal advantage.
MCWA aims to provide training and skills to assists individuals and communities to become self sufficient and independent.
Services provided dependents on the contribution of members in the way of time and skills
To apply for assistance or aid appropriate documents must be lodged with CWA for review and approval by the Executive
Committee.
Membership does not entitle you to use the organization's name for assistance from other sources.
All applications for membership require approval by the Executive committee
CWA Guest House (Accommodation)
The Foyer, guest kitchen and accommodation rooms are for paying guests only.
For the safety of all and efficient operation of services when using MCWA as meeting point it is required that:
- Unless hired, member’s may use verandah in front of hall or Haus win.
-Be present for your guests arrivals and remain with them whilst on premises
-Member’s invited guests are limited to 5.
- Visitation time must be less that an hour if business not related to MCWA.
- Employed staff and volunteers in administration and Guest house are employed by MCWA only
-Secretary General reserves the right to cancel membership where there is abuse of rules & the constitution.
-Honorary membership is available to male persons upon approval by Executive Committee.
